Classic Grandpa! Hello from Rapid City! I am here attending a weekend workshop on "Reclaiming
Youth." I am very excited because Temple Grandin is one of the presenters! Courtney and I watched the HBO show about her life. Temple is a person with Autism who has gone on to be very successful. Courtney told me to get my picture taken with her, so I'll see what I can do;)
Today my Grandpa Bart would have celebrated his 100th birthday. He passed away eight years ago, and I miss him very much. He told great stories and was always fun to be around. Whenever I smell or see cigars, I think of Grandpa!
We had a nice Father's Day....went to church, played golf and then drove to Fergus Falls for Dan's baseball game. It was nice to see Dan, Laurie, Warren, Ann, Andrew, and Sarah:) Dan played a great game and had an *awesome* bunt, but unfortunately his team lost. We hope his hand/fingers are ok, as he hustled after a ball and injured himself!
The girls and I went to the library today, and they have a softball game at 5:00 today as well!
Grandpa and the Girls Skittles in his double throne?!
We had a very nice weekend with my mom and dad. We celebrated Eric's birthday with them last night and then went to church this morning. I made an eggbake and the girls gave grandpa his Father's Day gift a week early:)
Courtney with one of those looks---seems like I've given that look before:) Like mother, like daughter..... Happy Birthday Daddy----Kelsey wanted popsicles, not cake!
We celebrated Eric's birthday by taking him out to eat. Courtney's teacher also has the same birthday as Eric and was out celebrating as well. She turned 50 on Wednesday-she is such a good teacher and we will miss her! I finished my last day of work yesterday-yeah!!! Now, I have the chance to do some work around the yard and spend time with the girls.
Courtney and Kelsey both earned parts in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves," which will be performed at 7:00 this evening. Courtney is one of the dwarves and Kelsey is a forest creature. Mom and dad are coming up for the weekend to see the play. We are also planning on taking them to Fergus Falls Sunday for Dan's game, then on Monday they will go watch the girls play in a softball tournament in Lidgerwood, ND.
I'd like to wish my parents a very Happy 56th Anniversary today!! Your marriage and lives together are a testimony to the love you share with your children and grandchildren. We are all so very blessed to have you both in our lives. Thank you for your guidance, support, advice, but most importantly for your love. May God continue to bless you today and always.
