Kelsey brings home the gold!!

Courtney wins the gold medal in Compulsories!

The girls competed in Wahpeton, North Dakota today and did very well! Kelsey earned two first place medals and Courtney earned a first, second, and fourth place medal. It was the first time Courtney competed in the interpretive event. Kelsey chose not to compete in this event. During this event, a song is randomly chosen, all of the skaters get to hear the song twice and then have to individually skate to the song, while the others skaters are 'secluded' in the locker room. Courtney's song was "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," and she was the first skater on the ice for her group. She did a great job!! Courtney and Kelsey's friends, Hema and Saheli came from Minneapolis to watch them skate....it was a great day!

We are looking forward to our next competition in Alexandria on March 13th! It will be fun for the girls to perform in front of Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, and Uncles:)

Pizza!

The girls and I decided to make pizza for supper tonight. I bought a wheat crust from Hy-Vee and we are anxious to see how it tastes! We had three days of school this past week due to the snow and wind.

Courtney and Kelsey had ice skating lessons this morning in Watertown. Kelsey is now in Basic 2 and Courtney passed into Basic 5. Last Sunday evening, their ice skating coach (who is my age) suffered a heart attack. She is recovering at home now, but we had a bake sale at the rink today as a fundraiser for her.

The girls have a competition in Wahpeton next Saturday, then a competition in Alexandria on March 13th and another one in Watertown on March 20th. It is so fun to watch them skate! We have been enjoying watching the Olympics skating as well!!

I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but the girls both got haircuts today at Great Clips!

We are having a great time in California! The weather has been between 60-70 degrees each day. My conference was good and informative. The girls and Eric have enjoyed making sandcastles, swimming, and walking on the beach. We drove down to the Navy Pier this evening and over to Coronado Island which is very beautiful! Tomorrow, we are spending the day at SeaWorld. We'll be flying home on Saturday afternoon. Have a great weekend everyone!!!
