California....
Karen, Carrie, myself, Tim, Dr. Linda Carnine, Jenn, Mindy and Isaiah
We are having a great time in California! The weather has been between 60-70 degrees each day. My conference was good and informative. The girls and Eric have enjoyed making sandcastles, swimming, and walking on the beach. We drove down to the Navy Pier this evening and over to Coronado Island which is very beautiful! Tomorrow, we are spending the day at SeaWorld. We'll be flying home on Saturday afternoon. Have a great weekend everyone!!! The first photo shows the reading team from my school with Dr. Linda Carnine, a very well respected and knowledgeable researcher in the area of direct instruction. It was a great honor to meet her:)

The girls competed in their first figure skating competition today. It was so much fun to watch them perform! Kelsey placed second in both the Compulsory and Artistic events. Courtney placed second in the Compulsory and third place in the Artistic category! Their next competition will be in Wahpeton on February 27th. Kelsey is going to a birthday party tomorrow and Courtney is going to see her friend, Hema in Wahpeton.
Have a good weekend everyone:)

The Cold Spell is Over...for Now!
The cold spell is over in our area for awhile. We dismissed from school at 11:00 am on Wednesday and we did not have school on Thursday or Friday. I think we had an additional 9 inches of snow and the winds were very gusty. The girls did not have school either. So, we enjoyed some quality family time together!! The temperature dipped to -24 without the windchill! Thankfully, today was much warmer and the girls were able to get outside and do some sledding.
Next Saturday, the girls have their first ice skating competition in Willmar. They are both excited about performing and have their routines ready to go!! We hope everyone has a good week:)
