The Heath family 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas in Jackson with my parents. The Methodist Church was cancelled due to the weather, so we attended the Presbyterian Church on Christmas Eve. The girls had a great time playing in the snow and building a snowman. Eric and I helped shovel the sidewalks and work off all the great food we ate:) We were able to make it safely home today. I think Skittles was happy to see us! Our friend Tiffany was not able to check on him until today, so after three days without food, he was a little hungry......Our neighbor was plowing out our driveway when we got home. It was a great Christmas:)

Mommy and her girls

We had a very busy weekend. Friday night, I took Kelsey and her friend to the basketball game at TZ while Courtney played at a friend's house. Saturday we had ice skating lessons and an Expo + Christmas play practice at church. Today was the church Christmas program, Courtney's hoopshoot competition, and our staff Christmas party. We are looking forward to Christmas break, to find some time to relax:)

Courtney competed in the regional Elks Lodge Hoopshoot in Watertown and placed 2nd! There were 10 girls in her age bracket and she made 16/25 freethrows. It was fun to watch her shoot!! We hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We will be travelling to Jackson on Wednesday, and Shakopee on Saturday for our Christmas celebrations.

Merry Christmas!!

It's Cold Outside!

It has been extremely cold here lately. Our school was 2 hours late today, due to the cold temperatures. We are hoping that it warms up soon.....the girls are getting anxious for Christmas vacation. Courtney said to me today, "I can't wait to go to grandma and grandpa's house, grandpa makes really good food!" I thought that was pretty cute:)

Here's a photo I took of Courtney and Skittles the other night. He has been spending most of his days inside. Eric took him to the vet. for his shots today-so he is pretty sore-poor kitty......

Cookies and Snowboarding

Our church held their yearly Christmas cookie sale today. So, we spent much of the weekend baking ten dozen cookies to donate for the sale. The girls had a lot of fun baking:) We also have some snow, so they couldn't wait to try out their snowboards. I took some video for you to enjoy.....

Have a good week everyone:)

Today when I arrived home from school, there was a large package on our porch. The package was from Jason, Birgit, and Clara Smith-our cousins who live in Germany. The package was filled with German treats, presents, pictures, and 2 Advent calendars for the girls. It was such a pleasant surprise!!! We will enjoy the Christmas goodies all month long! Our desktop computer is not working, so if anyone has Jason's e-mail address-would you please send it to me so that I can thank him!

Kelsey had her school Christmas concert this evening and Courtney's is tomorrow night. Have a good week everyone!

Good Friends

Courtney and Kelsey's friends, Saheli and Hema were in town last Thursday night. The girls had supper with them at Subway.

Eric and I had today off from school to observe Veteran's Day. I spent the morning volunteering in Courtney and Kelsey's classrooms. This afternoon, we have been cleaning around the house. It is another gorgeous day outside!

Halloween 2009

The girls had a great time trick or treating last evening. They started the day at ice skating lessons, then attended the carnival in Sisseton, before venturing out to trick or treat. Since we didn't have any trick or treaters this year, they went over to the Hagen's house to help pass out candy. Mom and dad met us in Watertown yesterday and followed us home for the weekend. Courtney and Kelsey sang in church this morning and Courtney received her Bible. It was a very nice service.

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Birthday Mike!

We'd like to wish Mike a very Happy Birthday today! I'm sorry that Courtney and I missed having supper with you last night.

Kelsey was scheduled to have surgery this morning at 6:00 am, but the nurse heard her cough, listened to her lungs, and said it would be better to wait. So, hopefully we can wait and re-schedule during Christmas break instead of the two weeks they are recommending. She was a little trooper and pretty proud of her wristband:)

The girls are pretty excited for Halloween------Courtney hasn't really decided between the '50's girl, pirate, or vampire---while Kelsey will be a devil:) They have a party at the after school program tomorrow, another party at school on Friday, and can wear their costumes to ice skating lessons on Saturday---before the big night of Trick or Treating.

Have a good week!

Turkeys Anyone?

I am home with Kelsey today. She is running a temp. and has a pretty bad cough. As we were having breakfast, we noticed a flock of wild turkeys walking through our backyard.

Courtney and I did some yardwork yesterday and set out our pumpkins. It was a gorgeous day except for all of the Asian beetles. Does anyone have an idea of how to get rid of these bugs?

Eric is in Rapid City until this evening for a training. Our school is closed today for students as we have close to 50% out with the flu.

I contracted a staph. infection and am on antibiotics for that. I have a few sores on my legs that are finally starting to heal. We are hoping that everyone is staying healthy.

Have a good week!

Time Flies....

It has been a busy time in the Heath household the last few weeks. Eric took me on a

'surprise' getaway to Las Vegas last weekend, which was very fun! Mom and dad took care of the girls in Jackson-as the girls had a few days off from school. We saw "The Lion King," and also went to see Ray Romano and Brad Garrett. It was a very relaxing and warm retreat. The girls have been keeping busy with school and ice skating lessons start on October 23rd! It is difficult to believe it is time for ice skating to begin again! Courtney is also taking piano lessons this year.

Eric will be leaving for Rapid City this Saturday for a training. Next weekend, I am driving to Onamia to meet mom, Dorothy, Sandy, Kathy, Wendy, and Brenda---we are taking a roadtrip to visit Sue in Cross Lake-that should be really fun!!

Have a great MEA break for those of you that teach/go to school in MN:)

Happy Anniversary Warren and Ann!! We hope you have a very special day:)
