Homecoming and Oktoberfest

Friday was Courtney's last parade as Little Miss Sisseton. Friday evening the girls and I went to the TZ Homecoming game for the first quarter-we lost 54-0. Then, we went to the Homecoming game in Sisseton. Courtney enjoyed cheering and watching the game with her friends. Sisseton beat Britton-Hecla 39-33. On Saturday night, Eric and I went with Scott and Tiffany Hagen to an Oktoberfest party. Everyone dressed up in German attire and enjoyed German food, it was a lot of fun. Have a great week everyone:)

Cowgirl Kelsey...

Kelsey is really enjoying pre-school. Her letter this week is "C" for cowgirl. Tomorrow, she is going on a camp-out to the state park and to visit a ranch. It is amazing how much she is learning, letter recognition and sounds-yeah! Friday is Homecoming for Sisseton and Tiospa Zina. I will be driving a black convertible for the royalty in the Sisseton parade. It will be Courtney's last parade before relinquishing her crown on November 10th.

Introducing Skittles Heath

We've decided to name our cat Skittles. Our friends the Hagen's have a cat named Snickers, so we decided to name our cat after Courtney and Kelsey's favorite candy. He is doing well and has now been moved into the basement at night. He has full access to the house during the day and loves to curl up on the coach to take a snooze. Eric's allergies seem to be doing ok and both girls love their new pet!

Kitten Update

After much discussion and a trip to the vet...we've decided to keep our little male kitten. Now, we need some help choosing a name-any suggestions? He is a very good cat and tame. So now Eric won't be the only male in the house:) He stays in the garage when we are gone and loves to play in the house when we are home. Courtney really enjoys him, Kelsey is not so sure-but she'll be ok with time. Have a great weekened everyone and come visit our new addition!

A Kitten?!

Yesterday, while playing outside, the girls could hear the sounds of a kitten near the trees. Eric set out some tuna and water for the kitten. Courtney made a bed for the kitty on the front porch and he/she has been staying nearby since Saturday. If we decide to keep the kitten, he/she will probably be an outside cat since Eric has allergies. Isn't the kitty cute? Courtney has already grown attached, so we'll see...

Just Hangin' Out

The girls have been entertaining Ashley and Kyler most of the day so that their parents could go to Fargo and celebrate Tiffany's birthday. Courtney is pretty tired as she spent the night at a friend's house last night and got up at 4:30 in the morning. She took a nap this afternoon, so hopefully she'll be back on schedule tomorrow. Eric and I have parent teacher conferences at school on Wednesday night this week, hard to believe it's mid-quarter already! Courtney's conference is the 24th. Have a good weekend everyone!

Kelsey Too!

I feel as if I've been leaving Kelsey out of my blog lately...so here is a picture of her at Jim and Shelly's house. Grandma and grandpa gave her some Spot books to enjoy on the ride home.

Bridal Shower and Birthday Party!

We spent a very busy weekend in the Cities. On Saturday, I attended a bridal shower and bachelorette party for my lifelong friend, Jenny Rowe. Her wedding is on October 26th in St. Paul. On Sunday, we had a birthday party for Sam and Courtney in Shakopee. Ted, Pam, Megan, Paige, Shelly's parents, and mom and dad helped the kids celebrate. Courtney has Grandparents Day at her school tomorrow, so mom and dad followed us back from Shakopee. Actually, the men drove in dad's car and the girls took the Tahoe. The arrangement worked well, as Grandma Darlene helped entertain the girls on the way home. It was a fun filled weekend. Hope everyone has a good week!

Thank You!!

Courtney wanted me to post these pictures and say thanks to Aunt Ann, Uncle Warren, Andrew and Sarah for the great birthday presents. She is planning to take the Brain Quest game for show and tell tomorrow. The butterfly plaque is hanging on her wall and she really liked the erasable board as well as the books. The other item is on her dresser-very fashionable! Thanks also to Uncle Tim, Auntie Debbie, Tyler, Mike, Molly and Tootsie for the gift of money as well:) The top picture shows Courtney with her new pair of Heelys that she got from us.

We just got home from the back to school Pow-Wow, we had a good time. Have a great weekend everyone! We're leaving Saturday morning for the Cities, I'm going to a bridal shower and bachelorette party Saturday. On Sunday we'll celebrate Courtney and Sam's birthdays in Shakopee.

Courtney's Seeds

Courtney received a packet of seeds from her teacher last year. Since we don't have a garden, she decided to give the seeds to Grandma Darlene to plant for her. Obviously, a few of the seeds were sunflowers, as the picture shows. Courtney was very surprised to see how tall the sunflowers were! I think this is a cute picture-thanks Grandpa for posing:)

Happy 7th Birthday Courtney Darlene!

Today is Courtney's birthday! She is a wonderful artist, helper, daughter and sister! We went to Fargo yesterday and saw the movie, "Ratatouille." The movie was almost two hours long and Kelsey became a little impatient, but we had fun. The first picture is from Courtney's fourth birthday party at our old house. The second picture is from her last parade. Enjoy the holiday everyone!
