More Memories....

Facebook is amazing. I have found many old classmates from JHS and it is so fun to get connected and catch up with what they are doing. One of the Jenny's from my class, posted these photos from second grade. I was Queen of the Snowflakes in our second grade play. In the other photo, I can see some similarities between Courtney and myself. What fun.....

Flowers and Poodle Skirt

Courtney has a piano recital on May 15th. The theme for the recital is The 1950's. So, we asked Grandma Cheryl if she would make Courtney a poodle skirt. Courtney received the skirt in the mail on Thursday and was so excited!! The skirt is adorable, thanks Cheryl!! Now, we need to find a blouse and scarf to match-anyone have any ideas???

I received many beautiful bouquets yesterday and am so grateful to all of my wonderful friends and family members for their support.

Have a great weekend!!

Upside-Down Deep Dish Pizza

We tried a new recipe this evening that I thought I would share....I found it in People magazine. You could use leftover spaghetti meat instead of fresh ingredients.

one pound ground beef

1 jar of Ragu

1 package of frozen broccoli, thawed and squeezed dry

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 can refrigerated pizza dough

Brown ground beef, drain. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in Ragu and bring to a boil. Turn inot 2 quart baking dish. Top with broccoli, then cheese. Press dough over dish, sealing the edges. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until crust is golden. Let stand 10 minutes. We made this for supper while watching the snow fall outside!!!

Rules from God....

I apologize for not blogging lately....as most of you know I received some unfortunate news last week. On the positive side---I received these rules from a good friend via e-mail, so thought I'd share with them you!
Have a good week:)

Rules from God for 2009

1. Wake Up !! Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as w e have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!... To the Lord. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!... For something higher.. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!... Your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; Instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6

Happy Birthday to Two Dear Friends.....

Two of my greatest friends, Rachel (April 7th) and Rowe (April 5th)both celebrated birthdays this week. Now they are as old as I am:) I have been friends with these two ladies since our days at Riverside Elementary. Our relationships are different, but they continue to be two of God's blessings in my life. So, Happy Birthday Ladies!!

Thirty years ago.....

This picture was sent to me by a classmate of mine (Erik Toft) via Facebook. I thought I would share it with the people that read my blog. It's crazy to think that I was in Kindergarten 30 years ago and now my little girl is in Kindergarten! Time flies....I do remember being in Mrs. Tufvesson's afternoon Kindergarten class with all of the other 'town' kids as the 'country' kids went to school in the morning.

Hello from Arizona!!

Sunny and 83 degrees for tomorrow:)
Hello from Phoenix! We were so fortunate to leave Sisseton right before the blizzard hit. The girls are enjoying the warm weather, swimming, playing racquetball and walking in the green grass. I will post pictures when I get home, but thought I'd post the weather forecast for tomorrow. We will be leaving Friday afternoon, but the weather and conference has been excellent!!
