Jen & Eric,
Thanks for the card & flowers for Deb's birthday. They were great and we had a blast a Jazz Fest. The weather was great the bands awesome. Ted & Pam made it down in time for the last set and the fireworks. I'll have to post the poem I wrote for her. It was good way to wrap up the evening. We're heading back out there today. Safe travels on your return st SD.
Thanks SO much for the flowers and card! We did have a great time and Ted and Pam enjoyed Jazzfest (after the nasty storm went through). Hope you have safe travels and we'll see you sunday! Deb

Debbie @ 50
Deb Smith was a Dahl girl,
adopted at birth;
Older sister of three,
a child of great worth.
Her parents, Clinton & Flavia,
did try as they would;
To raise Deborah Lutheran
as a good Synod should.
Her blue eyes so bright,
her smile tough to forget;
She had court talents too,
a good ball she could set.
A Volley Ball Captain of Jackson High fame;
No less a competitor now for the love of the game.
Through bell bottoms,
mood rings & Watergate blur;
To coffee latte, Yoga, and bike riding, is there a cure.
Deb’s survived all the fads to stay true to her form;
She’s conquered five decades & breezed through the norm.
A mender of hearts she continues to be;
At Sanford Heart Partner Clinic a flyer is she.
She’s quick with a joke if you stay for awhile;
Not unusual for this nurse with a bewitching smile.
Her jokes are outrageous.
Each one custom told;
Her laughter contagious,
for the young and the old.
Deb’s a friend that you hope for,
but few come to know;
Her loyalty boundless,
her carrying efforts pure as snow.
I’ve known this young lady for over thirty of her years;
From 16 to 50, we shared the fun & the tears.
I’ve relished each moment,
each hour as it passes;
Don’t you agree?
She has a great pair of glasses!
Deb is my best fried, councilor, conscious, & lover to boot;
She’s ageless & reminds me that I’m the old coot.
We celebrate this day with hugs, kisses, & fond wishes,
As usual dear, I’ll take care of the dishes.
A poet I’m not, just jazzed up with my wits,
I love you my dear for more than your __ personality.
Dearest Debbie we all love you, each in our own way;
Some cause you’re 50, others cuz your older then they.
The world’s a bit nicer because of your selfless giving;
The people you’ve touch, the life that you’re living.
We’re all here today to say “Happy Birthday & how nifty!”
Is it tougher living with Tim than just turning 50?
Love Tim
