The 'Girls'
Playing Monopoly
My great friend, Lynn, we met at Morris and have been friends ever since:)
We had such a great time visiting Lynn, Mike, Hannah, and Callie in Colorado Springs on Tuesday. The girls had a great time playing together and it was so good to see Lynn again:) Cheryl, Courtney, Kelsey, and I visited the Red Rocks on Wednesday which was very cool. We climbed 193 steps down to the stage!!
Pictures
I have many pictures to post from the past week......last Friday Courtney played in a golf tournament. She placed 2nd out of 3 golfers in her flight. She shot a 35 on 4 holes, the winner shot a 34---so she was very close! We drove through some bad weather on our way to Denver and the truck sustained some hail damage. It was a scary experience, but we were thankful to be safe. We visited Eric's dad in Idaho Springs and met his half-sister Martina at Casa Bonita. We stayed with Phil and Cheryl from Sunday on and had a great time! I'm having trouble loading pictures so I will have to do it later:(

Brooke, Kelsey, and Faith the figure skating friends
Getting ready for the road trip....
We celebrated Kelsey's birthday today at the Watertown Waterpark. There were 15 kids that attended including two of her friends from ice skating. It was a really fun day! Sam and Miranda have been staying with us this week, so they came to the party as well:) The girls will be finishing up with swimming lessons this week and Courtney is playing in a golf tournament on Friday. Shelly is driving over tomorrow and will spend the night before taking Sam and Miranda back to Shakopee on Friday. It has been really fun to have them stay with us. After Courtney's tournament is over, we are leaving for our trip to Denver!

Race Days!
We had a great time in Jackson this weekend! I completed the 5K on Friday evening. It was a bit challenging as the first part of the run was the hospital hill and the heat index was 98 degrees-but I ran the entire course and enjoyed it---the new trail that they have developed is absolutely gorgeous!! Saturday morning, Courtney completed the Kids Triathalon-she swam 25 meters, biked 2 miles and ran half a mile in 23 minutes. She finished 49th out of the 120 participants which was great!! We are very proud of her! Eric bought some shirts and ties at Strom's during Crazy Days and we watched the parade with Shelly, Miranda, Sam, mom, and dad from Cueball and Gloria's yard. Eric, Courtney, and I also attended Rhythm of the River on Friday night. Saturday night we decided to stay home, which was probably smart as Jackson County was in a tornado warning for the latter part of the evening! Sam and Miranda are staying with us this week so they will get to enjoy some golfing, swimming, and other activities including Kelsey's birthday party!
Have a good week everyone!
Happy Birthday Auntie Debbie!!

Parent's Night
Kelsey and her friends enjoying the refreshments after the game
The Heath Girls
The Heath Girls
Tonight was the last softball game of the season. It was Parent's Night, so I got to dust off my softball glove and play against the girls. I played catcher, it was pretty warm out-but I survived. Eric supervised the cookies and lemonade table:) Eric was one of four finalists for the position of High School Principal at Tiospa Zina. The superintendent called him last evening at 10:45 to offer him the job! I know he will do a great job! The only potential problem we are going to have is what to do with our girls for 2 weeks while we go back to work......the after school program at the school closes down from August 9-20, which are the dates we need help. I'm sure we'll figure something out;)
Tomorrow after swimming lessons, we are going to drive down to Jackson. It should be a fun weekend!! Eric and I are running tomorrow night and Courtney is competing in the triathalon Saturday morning. We will enjoy the parade from Queball and Gloria's yard Saturday afternoon. Shelly, Miranda, and Sam are coming down to meet us, then we will take the kids back to Sisseton for a fun filled week-including Miss Kelsey's birthday party:)
Have a good weekend!

We love Kohl's!!
Saturday we went to Fargo and saw the movie, "Despicable Me," it was actually a pretty good movie. Eric needed to take back a pair of shorts at Kohl's, so the girls and I went with him. I found picture frames on sale, buy one get one free. Kelsey got a t-shirt for 70% off and Courtney found this cool color your own shirt in the junior section for 50% off that has been keeping her quite busy:) I thought the shirts would make great birthday presents-since I haven't seen any other shirts quite like them!

My First Drawing
At the Relay for Life last evening, I won an autographed Charlie Daniels t-shirt. The front says "These colors don't run," with a picture of the American flag and The Charlie Daniels band printed underneath the flag. The back says, "God Bless America." It is a size large. If anyone is interested in this t-shirt please comment and I will draw the winner's name on Sunday. Courtney was kind enough to pose with the shirt.

Relay for Life
Courtney and I with our t-shirts
The Runners:)
Tonight was the Relay for Life in Roberts County. Our friends helped organize a 5K and 2K run for the event. I was one of seven runners that participated in the 5K. Courtney ran the 2K, while Eric and Kelsey were our cheerleaders! It is a great event and I know many counties participate throughout the summer to raise money for the American Cancer Society. It really made me pause and think about all of the people I know and have known that continue to battle or have lost their lives to cancer. The luminaries are a powerful testimony to the many people affected by cancer.
Although I didn't run very fast, I did complete the race-which was an awesome feeling! I hope I can improve my time next Friday at the Race Days 5K in Jackson!
Have a good weekend everyone:)
